About Fatigue Management
Fatigue Management operates two connected but distinct services:
www.fatiguemanagement.co.uk— the public educational, methodology, product, and pricing website;app.fatiguemanagement.co.uk— the roster and fatigue-governance workspace.
The educational library came first. Product pages explain the current software, while educational guides retain their original informational purpose.
Educational purpose
Section titled “Educational purpose”The site helps organisations, planners, and competent persons understand:
- Core fatigue management concepts and fatigue risk management system (FRMS) principles
- Practical approaches to fatigue risk assessment
- Shift work, night work, and roster-related fatigue risk
- Fatigue risk index (FRI) methods and model limitations
- Duty, travel, commute, and door-to-door time as fatigue planning concepts
- Sector context for operational workforces — see current scope below
Content is written in plain English and cites primary public sources where factual claims are made. It is not presented as an independent third-party review of the Fatigue Management software.
Product purpose
Section titled “Product purpose”The application helps organisations plan shifts and assignments, review modelled roster-related fatigue exposure, apply an optional named rule profile, and retain the resulting evaluation and management-decision records.

Current scope
Section titled “Current scope”This site focuses on shift-based, site-based, and operational workforces, including:
- Rail
- Construction
- Infrastructure and field operations
- Utilities, highways, and maintenance
- Healthcare shift work (cautious, general guidance only)
Aviation and road logistics are outside the current published scope. Those sectors have specialist regulatory frameworks that require separate treatment.
